Hounslow: Top of the Locs

Posted on 30th January 2020 by FilmFixer

If you haven’t considered Hounslow’s excellent array of filming locations before, maybe now is the time to start….

1. Hounslow House

Shoot for the sky

Available evenings and weekends, the rooftop at Hounslow House is accessible and roomy. It provides amazing scope for suburban skylines, with views right out across the borough. The building also has a sleek, modern canteen area and a large underground car park. As long as you have the budget to cover security and staff costs, you’re good to go.

2. Brentford Towers and Ivybridge

The overlooked estates

We all know that it’s easy to get into habits of going back to the same locations over and over again. Hounslow has some brilliant estates on offer that can provide everything that the more central boroughs can. When it comes to factors like consultation and budget, you might find that Hounslow can even provide more.

3. Chiswick Town Hall

Something to suit every budget

Main Hall

The Main Hall is the perfect setting for a wedding scene, a prom, a party, an awards ceremony or performance. Suitable for large budget productions looking for a space to make their own. If it doesn’t quite float your boat, the Hogarth Hall, Council Chamber or Committee room might do the trick. Click here for photos.

The Town Hall cellar is made up of narrow corridors and storage space. It is a relatively unassuming space, perfect for anything in the horror or thriller categories. We can accommodate lower budget productions down here. If you’re a student working on a final year project, perhaps this is the location for you.

Beyond that, the  site offers a number of other multi-use meeting rooms, board rooms and offices to suit every scale. The interior are all listed here, with the intriguing Room 22 (pictured above) listed here. The exterior isn’t to be sniffed at either. With its bath stone dressings, quoins, cornice and a porte cochère, it makes quite the impact. Plus, there’s a small car park. LMs, we can hear that box being ticked from here.

4. Boston Manor

Not just a unit base

The flyover at Boston Manor could easily double as a US location. It’s also got the added bonus of being highly controllable relative to other similar locations. If you have a stunt or a challenging shoot in mind, get in touch.

Boston Manor House is a grade II listed Jacobean gem. There are only so many film-ready period buildings available for filming within the M25, and this is one of the best.
