S3: E3 of BBC’s The Cleaner saw the main character Wicky (Greg Davies) embroiled in a murder mystery at a local community centre. The episode was shot almost entirely at Chiswick Town Hall and the crew made beautiful use of everything the location has to offer.
The story played out in the fictional Drakefield Community Centre, and required a number of setups – both int. and ext. The key location was the Main Hall, with ceilings high enough to make even Greg Davies look average height. And its striking red walls made a perfect backdrop for a murder mystery, hey?
They also made use of the Town Hall’s cinematic stone façade, grand staircases & corridors, the smaller Hogarth Hall, and the council chamber with its stained glass windows and doors. The production was on location for eight days including prep & strike and the Location Manager for the episode was Andy Picheta.
